66 Chevelle backhalf racecar, big block

Yep, just picked this car up less than a week ago but will sell it for the right price.

Car is a 66 Chevelle, it was an old us30 car and still has some of the original stickers on it. The car was just updated within the year to a new backhalf job and a ladder bar suspension.


427 bored ?40 over, don't know all the specs yet
MSD distributor, 6al, 2 step etc
csr electric water pump
afco aluminum radiator/electric fan
Big tube headers
BG280 fuel pump
Coan t400 w/brake
12 bolt w/spool, not sure on the gear right now with disc brakes on itThe car had a dominator on it but the people we bought it off of removed the dominator b/c it would not clear the stock hood. The 750 carb that is on the car now does not come with the car (needs a bigger carb anyway). All the suspension is new and needs to be tuned as we haven't tuned it yet.

The car is all steel and is very solid, definitely could go on a diet, still even has a radio in it, paint looks like it's pretty old but looks ok. Car originally was a nice blue.

The engine supposedly went 8.20's in a 2000lb rail, when we took it out this weekend I ran it to a 10.77 @ 123mph on motor only spinning it to 6200. Car should easily turn to 7000 but I didn't want to chance it running that small of a carburetor. Still need to hook up the transbrake and it only cut a 60ft of 1.46 so you can tell it has more suspension tuning needed. Also, we did not do any engine tuning so there is more left there too. Anyway, here are some pics.

Thanks, the car is nice, just needs a new paint job and you'd be good to go. It was out there on Sunday so some people might have seen it. First pass my dad went 11.20 just getting the feel for it and the brakes (coulda made the 1st turnoff easy). I drove 2nd pass to a 10.89. 3rd pass my dad went 10.98. 4th I went 10.77 and that might of been with me letting off at the very end (radiator hose popped off and caused some steam/smoke).

I was just happy I could race again, just found out my $2000 crank is cracked from the camaro:cry: Oh well, i'll be back

Not that I have had an LSx but I have had a welded cranks....

word to the wise, throw it away or swap meet it.... kicked rods on 2 different welded cranks (and not welded at Joe Blow's garage either)...

BTW- Wanna trade for a mouse infested Vette?

It may not be anywhere near as fast though.... :)

I like the 66-67s better too. I had a Marina blue 66 SS396 car 4spd radio & heater delete car from Hawaii. Bone stock & I didnt have the balls to cut it up so I traded it off. Only had it for 1 summer in the early 90s & didnt get it out much so not many remember it. Funny thing the guy who had my 64 wanted to trade for my Harley & I thought 64s were ugly. He was persistant & offered a bunch of $$ plus the car so I figured I would take it & trade it off.....only took 9 years & a complete rebuild to get rid of it.

Also have a video of the 1st start with the new carb. Remember, this car is all steel, we do have a fiberglass hood with a small 2" cowl that could bring the weight down some. Sorry for the dirty car, it's been sitting since we had it at the track last october, i'll make sure it's washed before it sees the track next :)

Blah, bump her up again, here's a small vid from somewhere around a month ago or so. Still not tuned, actually had one rocker arm quite loose and a couple others not adjusted right on this pass. As of now, the lifters have been adjusted but we still need to get the suspension right, still has regular stock shocks in the front :D

Anyway, went high 10's on this pass, nothing special
