a couple have tried, but they are brand new, the he's keeping the price that high cause of the fact AFR has like a 3 or 6 month wait on them right now... I just looked in Jegs yesterday and they were only 1395. but not sure what springs and valves those came with.

check ebay the dart pro1 195cc heads are going for around 1095 complete

please don't rule out the option of victor jr heads(you'll need to flycut the stock pistons)you can get them for a $1050 w/valves or 1270 complete

edelbrock 60379 performers are another nice set of heads that can be bought for around a $1000 complete

foxlake has a nice head program for gt40p heads (for the money hard to beat them)junkyards usually have them on late 90's 302 explorers.
down fall is you need a special header the run these(spark plug location)
