The question is more or less how much do you wanna spend? I cannot remeber is this the v-6 car or v-8.... sorry not a ford guy.

Cheap----spray the dam thing 500-700 bucks
Not so cheap-------supercharger $2500 and up

expensive --- put a 302 or 351 in it. but good luck I hear from some ford boys if the car is a v-6 you have to change the K-member to drop a V-8 in those cars.

Im pretty sure a Super Coupe is a super charged 3800 motor.. I forgot which magazine the shoot out was in , but there was just one lately and 3 of them were solid 12's w/o a ton of mods..

well thanks to everyone with the decent ideas. im trying to build something outta the ordianry. i could go out and buy a fox or an ls1/lt1 car, but where is the fun in that? this is an awesome looking car, that you wouldnt expect. so for the smartasses that said to drop a 302/351 in it, that is what everybody does. im not everybody...

Liquify, we're not bein smartasses, you want to know how to get it to run 12s? who knows? everyone says "how can i get my car to run 12s", who knows, go find out!!!..... and obviously you've never driven an LS1 by saying "where is the fun in that",......you want out of the ordinary? go buy an AMC....oh wait thats been done too :scared: , if you are actually serious about going fast, go out, and buy a set of headers and 3'' exhaust, cold air piping or whatever, faster pulley, and some M/T Drag radials.....take it to the track...and come back on here with some #'s

don't forget trans, not sure if they came with the T-5 or not? :think:

port the stock heads and better valve spring(don't need any valve float at high rpms)
contact jay allen,ed curtis,or buddy rawls for a custom cam
a set of 1.6in/1.7ex roller rocker(fords tends to have a weaker exhaust port)
mac longtubes and o/r prochamber.
put that hog on a diet
upgrade the suspension(drag springs and strut/shocks)

what kind of trans?

aod= solid input shaft,lentech valve body w/ t-brake,billet servo,complete rebulid,and a nice converter
t-5= better clutch(spec stage 3) and 3qt's gm sycromesh fluid(about the only thing GM DID RIGHT)

not cheap but that should get you close to your goal

thank you. thats all i wanted is a lil insight. and newbomb, i have driven an ls1 car. im not going to deny their fast. but you could pretty much gaurantee that at least 10 other guys in this area will have the same set-up as you. not trying to be a dick. i am just not down for building a common ass car. when i found this deal, my only thought was "now this is gonna be a challenge" and im looking forward to it!

quick specs;
3.8 supercharged v6...like 210hp/240tq stock
aod car. still have the other aod outta my last mustang
and im not gonna say the exact weight, but with full interior, suspension, and all power options...its a sled
