View Full Version : Definition of a Street Racer??

I would like to know Your ideas of what a street racer is. I am not and have never claimed to be one so don't go there. However if i were to be one or a sprouting young driver aspiring to be one, and researched my way to this site. What might I think a Street Racers was. I asked myself this here what I see.

1. First and most shocking to me is that you don't need a car or at least not one that runs.

2. You need a lot of free time to hang out and make fun of people, and blow smoke up your own ass on the computer.

3. You must absolutely never take a chance and run somebody that may be as fast or faster than you at running your mouth or car. Lets not leave out us bench racers.

4. When given a venue or an event at which to enjoy this lifestyle. You must always complain and criticize.

5. Apparently you must spend more time pasting pics of your buddies face on images nudity most involving penis or ass, or penises in ass.

6. And this one is very important, always know its never your fault and the other guy always did it wrong.

7. And last but not least is you must never actually race, Now this is very important.

And remember your buddies car is always faster than the other guys, buddies car that the two of you are nut swinging on.

Again this is just what I have noticed since being around this site.

Now shut the fuck up and get your ass of the computer for a little while and go out and race.

:scared2: :freak:

There are not too many "true to the culture" street racers left on this website(created to give street racers a place to go along with the CHAOS events!).And guys that had shootout cars tried to turn STREET CAR CHAOS into another NMCA............didnt fuggin' happen thank god!:pissed: The definitions you posted are basically for all the posers that dont and never have street raced! The true street racers are still out there.......but,dont talk too much on this website.

No....a street racer has a car that he will run on the street flat da' fugg out! The argument over what a street car is.....is play'd out!!!! Shure,i wouldnt expect a 540 with two dominators car to run a car with a 406 small block with a 850 carb.......but,real street racers go after cars like their own and dont beg for fuggin' spots all the time!!! The street car issue is a "crutch" for mofo's that dont want to race or want a easy win!

I wanted to add that there are cars that run on pump gas and get driven alot, have street tires......im not diss'n these cars cause they are cool as hell too! But,when it comes to serious double throw down street racing.....there are some cars on the ragged edge(but...are still street racer cars!).

Wow..... Go out drinking and find yourself drug in a thread...... :D

Anyway my thoughts on Street Racing......

Firstly it's nothing like it used to be, thus SCC is about all I'll even mess with anymore....

There was a time when everybody had a first name and not an internet name....

A pager and a bag\brick phone were about your only options to get a hold of someone...

If you wanted to see how fast someones car was you raced them heads up.... Not do an internet search to see if you can get any times to pop up... .

There was a time where racers would hang out and not play gay music loud to get get the spot noticed and get everyone kicked out....

There was a time where racers would throw there trash away to help with not getting kicked out of a spot....

There was a time you'd roll up on the street, do a quick burn-out, and get the race off even if you were driving the car sideways down the street....

Anyway.... I forgot what the topic was even about now......

:yup: :yup: i agree, a street race should be set up at a gathering(parking lot)got to the place to race, do the race, then go back to the gathereing! bottom line!!!!!!!!!!!! not stand around where your going to race at, thats like standing around the property of a house your going to rob! some people are stupid as can be, i once seen a street race that was about to happen, and this cocksucker seen a semi comming down the street and he wasn't going to move, he wanted the semi to pullover(with 3' of gravel on either side of the road....yeah right!):fyou: that was enough to piss the semi driver off, and it wasn't long after that, the law came:think: wonder why? another thing, i never could understand the reasoning on doty road, why you would always race towards a crowd of people, the road goes in both directions, race away from the people:yup: S T U P I D !!!!!!! there is many ways to avoid capture from street racing, if people would just PLAY IT SMART!!!!

That's another good point.... We would never run if there was a crowd in front of the start.... You'd have one of your friends from each side down at the end to hold the money.... Otherwise everyone was behind the cars....

The other thing I HATE is all the video cameras..... I have never felt a smart thing to do is video yourself committing a crime.....

This article is in my colletion of street racer stuff for life! And it changed my life after i read it,we loaded up in my buddies moms station wagon one fridaynight and drove to DUKE'S(still have a jacket!) to see the real sh*t! We saw a old pro-stock vega on a trailer across the street and numerous wild ass cars in the shadows! Oh,how do i know it was a old pro-stock vega.....they white washed the whole car and under the thin layer of white paint you could still see decals and Jenkins Competition on the hood scoop(yes...i said Jenkins Competiton...as in "Grumpy":scared: ).The car also had the 'ole school shopping cart wheelie bars, this was the summer of 1982!After that night i made lots of trips to Chi-town and made alot of freinds,me and Vanilla and a wild crew of characters(Peanut, crazy richie, chrome wells, twin, ect!)made the old DOTY Road are home!!! We actually became hired guns(drivers),did maintenance, held money, towed cars for quite a few southside street racers through the 80s! And i still hit 130th and other spots when i can......it aint dead!!!;)

Besides not having much $ to give away to the person Id be racing , I also worry about getting caught.. Its a lot different these days.. What happened 15 years ago if you were caught racing? Did they give you a $2500 fine? Court? Jail? Impound car? Im sure you didnt get off totally , but its no where as bad as it is these days.. Its cool if you guys can do it , but for a lil guy like myself , I cant see giving the insurance company and state anymore $ than I have to. :)

I don't take jabs to the head very well!!! And when I get them, I follow them up with a right hook.

When I ask for a set-out (in past post) from guys, it was from guys who know thier cars are faster then mine. They know it & I know it.
Well,i dont fuggin' take jabs to the head very well too.......and i follow them up with a chin check!!! So,if you think i was personally pickin' on you.....look for me at the next CHAOS and we can talk about it!;)

Hell I remember going to the Skyway and Chgo's finest would stop traffic just so we could get off the races.....I'm talking about low 8second cars:yup: The good ole days We used to ride out to Schaumburg and see enclose trailers w/Pro Stocks SS hitting the street . I seen my fair share of street races as well raced in them. Now a days I don't even want to watch......hell they are coming down on the spectators just as hard as they are coming down on the racers.........Now a days it's not worth it. I still support it but from a distance. Times are changing cars are quicker and you got to many inexperience drivers. Just my .02 cents

I'm Kool!!! :yup:
I can talk shit with the best of 'em

I've been on those street for a long time. When I started Street Racing the D*** spot you guys are talking about was across the bridge from the Gas station, before moving closer to the Fire station. When they first started racing by the fire station, they would run the cars heading south, but learn the fast cars couldn't slow down quick enough before entering a curve in the road. A couple of guys flip their cars. I knew one of them. That's when they started running the cars north.
There were a few more Hot racing spots along the Dan (close to/by the projects), but you want to find a race anttime of the week, you would head over to the westside of Chicago.
Names are being witheld to protect the Guilty!!!

Nope, scene ahs changed, but it aint dead. Buddy of mine went to doty just last week. BUNCH of imports now, but still kickin.

The other thing I HATE is all the video cameras..... I have never felt a smart thing to do is video yourself committing a crime.....

......I remember way back in the early 80's, when it was like REALLY rare to see a video camera, we'd set up stuff at Dukes and then head out to one of many spots, and if it was high profile cars, u'd see somebody bust out some 35mm camera's or sumthin'.....but u almost never knew if there was video cuz it'd be dark and the dude would be in the crowd....but u could see the flashes from the camera's.........and THAT was even a kinda new thing....takin' stills at a street race......but it was cool......but alot of things have changed....now it's like fox news and shit....EVERYBODY's rollin' film these days....but i dont mind it......it'll be cool shit to show ur kids about ''back in the day'' and all......i wish i had video of all my street racin' back in the eighties........*sniff* *sniff*......all i can do is open the garage and look at the car and remember the times.....i cant believe i still have a car that i bought in high school......wierd.
