well after having a frustrating week on my car with stuff continually breaking today was the last straw with me going to start it and the teeth ripping off the starter. so ive been debating on stepping up to an msd setup with a start retard feature, probably going to go with the digital 6 plus box, that way i have a stage of nitrous retard built in also. anyone have any imput on the digital 6 box? also going to get an new dist. i was debating between a crank trigger setup with crab dist, or a pro billet distributer, what are the pros and cons of these? im new to ignion setups so any help will be appreciated. thanks -mike

I use a Mallory Digital VIIc in my Regal, I like the flexibility and simplicity of it. I use an MSD crank trigger and dist., and a Pro Power coil.

not completely true.the older stuff is great.
here lately they have had alot of quality issues with their box's and dizzy line.their prices have gone up but the quality has gone down (global economy)

i've switched everything over to crane hi-6r and lx-92 coil.
hope it works out for my junk street car

such as what kind of quality issues? i have always used msd stuff and only one time (burned out the coil) had any kind of problems, i hear this, about msd and not saying it isn't true that the quality may have gone south, but i haven't seen it:dunno:

i have had 2 msd box's(got really hot) return for shorting out(the cars elect. system has been gone thru by ford twice).they tried to say i had a surge problem(reason for car getting checked).no problem every found on my car.
thank god for warranty.
the efi distributor had a problom with eating the camshaft gear(msd installed the wrong gear at the factory).and last but not least the tfi module(pure night mare).

hell i had a box that would kick the check engine light on all the time for no reason.thats even using their wiring kit for the efi ford install.remove box and don't see the check engine light.
so those are the reasons behind my statement.
