Well If you shot some wd40 in it. Try priming the oil system BEFORE you start it. Theres a real damm good chance that there is absolutly no oil on the top half of all the bearings! You may half to replace the crank seals if the got hardened during storage. As far as the seat goes... If the freek'n mice just ate the stuffing (as usuall) just take the seat to a aupostery shop and they came repair the damage with little fuss. You can also try looking on ebay motors www.ebaymotors.com and doing a search for front seats followed by a refined search of 1961 or 1961 chrysler.
Hope this helps and good luck! :yup:
ps: How did you get car in the basement?

ps: How did you get car in the basement?[/QUOTE]
we raised the 90 y/o cottage my great grandfather built, put a top floor on and threw in a basement
the car was originally my great grandfathers. the basement is where that car has been for as long as i can remember. when i was a real young child '3' my cousins and my uncle decided to get it fired up they drove it around the block and parked it right where it was before.
here's where it sits and will sit till my dad gets his ass in gear.it has 33k on it thats it..

If the brakes are frozen... get a can of brake clean, Spray from top to bottom and let it work in for a few minutes. then lightly tap on the brake shoes to lossen them up. You may have to replace the shoe springs due to being streched out for so long. (yes spring kits are still avail,) Now how are ya gonna lift the cottage up?

lol the garage is about 10' tall and the width of the house with a 8' fireproof garage door and full security system.
id love to take this fucker out-they have cruise richmond nights out there.thats where the car was bought-car still as dealer sticker.my dad and i went to the dealership to find out what they wanted to fix it.lol they said we'll fix it-all you have to do is let us put it in our window -ALL SUMMER.
there are a few issues tho
ALL the breaks are locked and the garage is 12' bellow ground level.last time they pulled it out it took a 85 chevy wagon chained to the chrysler and a 10000 87 dodge rv chained to the chevy.-ill never forget that-.as you can see in the pics there really isnt much room down there to work on it.there is a little over a foot on pass side.i plan on goin up there next weekend to fire up the sleds.ill take a shit load of pics and post'em
OHH have to add this- making a new video anyone have some pics from this season

well, that backfired in my face! lemme put that into different words to clarify,
it suprised the shit out of me to hear that there is a car in a basement, and that a dealership is going to fix it as long as they can put it in the showroom, i'm not sayin' i don't believe ya man- i'm sayin' that is one hell of a car history that should be in car craft when the car is done
that's what i meant to shorten in a couple of words

old oil that sits for longer than about a year or two forms some kind of acid, drain it and use fresh before ya do anything (if it were mine) what i would do would be- drain the old, replace with fresh, mark the spark plug wires if you don't know were they go, and any other wires for reference. remove the distributor and valve covers, then prime the oil pump untill-
(they make a tool or you can make one out of an old distributor)
-l oil comes out of the rockers to insure you have oil flow. to go one step further you could install a dummy oil gauge so you can see the oil pressure while you prime. if all good with pressure and engine turns over by hand
fire it up!

I talked with a buddy of mine down in TX about this.... Here are his thoughts...
I revived a 1950 Pontiac that sat outdoors from 1963 to 1985....... put Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders and leave for a day or so. Spin the motor over to make sure it sounds like it has compression on all 8 cylinder.... not skipping a hole while it spins. Put a gas can under the front and run a hose from it to the fuel pump and fire it off of that, not what's in the tank.... that will be some nasty stuff by now.
If everything sounds good, put some Marvel oil in the trans, clean out the tank and go fo a spin!

So I had my dad read through the forum and he kept laughing at me about the keyboard....well mark another one up for pops. Got a new keyboard.
lol my dad was AMAZED with all of your guys help and says THANK YOU.
I made a few calls "Murry's+AutoZone+Napa" about parts and I'm amazed in what I can't find. Can't get Any brake hardware, wheel cylendars, wires, trans filter.
Anyone know where I might be able to find these things, the wires arn't a problem I'll just use "cut your own".
Thanks again
