For those of you running doms, do you run the power valves or do you plug them. In my 4150 I run a primary and a plugged sec pv., and obviously increase the jetting. If you run a primary and plugged sec. how do you compensate the jetting. I am just trying to have the thing halfway close out of the box.

I have had a couple dominators and I always ran them with both PVs plugged off. I used to drive on the street quite a bit like this and never had a problem. As for the jet size, I usually went up 10 sizes when going from a PV to blocking it off. :yup:

Also, I could be mistaken, but I believe some Dominators don't even have the correct passages for a PV to even work correctly. :dunno:

You'll get a kick out of this..... I have no idea..... :dunno: I have not had the carb open since April and I don't recall what jets are in it.... what you said sounds close, if that helps.....

i have an 1150 dom. it came with both power valves and 95 jets square, i have barely changed the jets (down to 93 on primaries) and it runs very clean on the street and highway, and never a hiccup at the track.

As a rule, if you plug the PV's you need to jet up 6+ jet sizes

Most dominators came w/o provisions for PVs. The 80532 &80533 1250HPs came w/ special race PV's part # 134-265

1050s
8896 88 jets NO PVS
9375 92 jets NO PV
1050HP
8896-1 88 jets NO PV
9375-1 88 jets NO PV

Some marine application 1050s came w/ PVs that NEED to be plugged for drag motors
8082 88 jets 6.5 PV
8082-2 84 jets 6.5 PV
80340 84 jets 6.5 PV

What is the list # of your carburetor?????

Hope this helps

The 8896-1 out in the garage has 2 pv as well. I plan to plug em off and replace the 84 jets with some 90s.

Paul,
According to my catalogs and info, all series of the 7320 came W/O Power Valves.

Even Holley lists the 7320 -1 and -2 as not having them

I see Holley lists the 8896-1 as having part # 125-55 (5.5) power valves

I dont know if the 8896 HP was first released with or without powervalves, it might have been first produced with, then changed, or vice versa

Holley currently lists it w/ PVs, I also have some Holley TS Bulletins that list it w/o PVS :dunno:
