I have seen some aftermarket bells on TH400.... Sadly enough they are pretty brutal.... Saw-Zaw, Cut-off wheel, Die-Grinder type of shit... So long as the pump face is clear they seem to work....

As far as putting it in a fox body, I don't know of anyone..... Most go to a glide, since most Mustangs seem to be feather weights...

I never converted one to a Ford, but I have installed an Ultra bell on a 400. Wasn't really too hard to do....just a little time consuming to get the clearance right....I mean just to make sure the trimmed 400 case wasn't interfering with the ultra bell when it was bolted on. :yup:

You dont need a t-400:think: I got a C4 ,they make them just as strong,and more efficient:yup:

What happened in my case, was that I just bought a new Coan trans and the bell housing cracked on the damn thing. Luckily not enough to get into the internal part of the tranny. So, I bought the Ultra bell in order to fix it. Worked like a champ after that....

i can't find a decent case for the glide and this car will see some street time.
i'm going to use a PA sfi bellhousing.so i have alot of option since the bellhousing is universal

a t-400 is a better designed trans.the c-4 leaves to much room for fault.
also i can't see spending $4000 for a trans when i can get a t-400 built to do the same thing for around a grand

what is considered the life of a transmission?
glad your happy with your choice, but a t-400 will hold alot more than a c-4 could ever think of

For as long as you own it.And you get free fresh ups for life.It doesnt get any better than that:think: Im not tryin to tell you what to buy ,just lettin you know of different option.10 yrs ago I would agree, but they have really stepped up with these trannys. There are ALOT of racers that have low 8sec rides runnin these all day long with no problems:yup:

Thats the same company some Buddies of mine were telling me about, They went to a NMRA event and that company had a trailor there. They told me that Guys were out on the track Blowing those things up and bringing them back what seemed to be after every round. They cost that much because they are absorbing the costs of the warranty repairs into the price:yup:

Ive conversed on the net with many NMRA guys that swear by them.I never said they would never break, but if they do they get fixed for free.So what your sayin is t400's dont break:think: Im sayin you wont find another company with that kind of warranty.Boy did I own a can of worms:think: Buy what you prefer:yup:

Never said they wont break alls I'm saying is that just like Ford makes a Bullet Proof 9 inch Rear Chevy makes a T-400 Thats the Equivalent :yup: Of course I've never made any 7 or even 8 second passes :nono: Hell who am I fooling I havent even made a 9 sec pass:cry: But Ive had a TCI 400 w/brake for 5 yrs no prob and just freshened it up for the 1st time. It cost me about $1100.

the trans that scj has is definately a stout little trans, but i still agree that gm makes a better trans by far, that can hold much more hp, i have seen the only downfall of turbo 400's and that is 1. the bellhousing is weak, and 2. the drum, other than that, i too feel they can't be beat and don't cost that much to have built:yup: just my .02:cool: i soon will invest in a chevy trans(not a 400 tho):doob:

Take it from a guy that fucked up a case when I put my JW Ultra Bell Housing on:pissed: You have to trim it directly outside of the pump bolts and the front pan bolts then try it and trim it and try it and trim it and try it:scared: :bs: But what I did wrong was I didnt trim enough off of the bottom near the pan and when I bolted the housing on it stripped out the bottom pump bolts:cry:
