i'd like to bring our '32 down some time but i'm not sure what other things the car would need to pass tech for scc. If there even is one for the event.

I noticed some guys at one of the last events not so far as even wearing helmets in some pretty ignorant cars. I'm talkin what looked to be some sub-8 sec., low 9 sec. cars.
I understand the safety issue is important and everything but it just seemed like it would be easier for some guys to run with some of the safety pieces not yet on their cars?

Anyway to get to the point, It's been just a few years since the car has seen track time. About 30 or so to be a little more exact! lol! The car right now is a 1932 5-windoew ford. The roof has been removed and a full custom race apped interior. Im not sure what the cage in it would be considered,(piont wise), but it has a main hoop behind the seats and a leg on each side that goes from about 1/4 up the main hoop to the floor panels. Kind of like a door bar going to the back instead of the front. It also has one bar that goes down from the middle of the hoop to the pass. side floor pan to house the control box some other needed strength. Sadly enough that's it for the cage. I guess back then it wasn't as important and cars weren't as fast. moving on the car was also an 1/8 mile car so it wasn' seeing very high MPH's. It has a......
-327 4-bolt, 30 over
-12.5:1 comp. ratio
-hilborn injected
-pro shifted munsee 4-speed
-an olds rear end w/a 5.86 gear ratio:scared:
- it has a one gal. fuel tank, copper and steal bradded lines
-a two gal. water tank
- a battery tray with usually a high amp 12V batt.
-my father made the suspension so i'll do my best" it's very close to an f-body set up but it sort of has 2 torque arms if you will.(BTW-i'd get pics if i could but don't have a camera nor know how to get the pics on the net!) The two arms are welded to the trans crossmember and bolted to the rear end. It has a coil spring on each side and a small home made panhard bar. For shocks, they're mounted like a g-body and right know they are just an old set of air shocks!
-other than that th car has a stock frame, steel cab and a glass front end!

i just need the basics on what i'll need to make a few passes and see what the car still has in it! The only pics i do have are in the "Garage" section of this site and the video of the car...

yeah i mean all we seriously did was bolt the intake back down, do a compression check, throw in a new set of plugs w/ a junk dual-points dist. and adjust the valves. She just purred like an open headered small block should!
